A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place…

Do you guys collect anything?
I collect coffee mugs, shot glasses and books. I like collecting them because they are so cool and you can find really unique ones if you search hard enough. However, I have always thought it would be cool to collect something that is widely collected by people everywhere. Pez Dispensers, stamps, Star Wars memorabilia, etc. As soon as I mentally get passed how cool that sounds, I realize that I would probably absolutely hate collecting items that serve no purpose other than just being collected and sitting on a shelf in my house.

I can’t stand clutter.

Coffee mugs hide in the kitchen cabinets AND serve a purpose. I can drink my beloved coffee out of them. So, I guess, technically that turns my want of having coffee mugs into a need because I can’t drink coffee without a cup to pour it in.

Shot glasses sit in the cabinet and I obviously can use those for a beverage as well.

Books are never clutter, no matter how many you have. They serve multiple purposes. They add warmth to the room, you learn new things from them and expand your imagination.

I wonder how someone can collect something that serves no other purpose? It just sits there on a shelf in their home and all people can do is look at it.

Maybe this is just a sign that I may have OCD.

Sincerely,
I can’t collect anything without it serving another purpose also.

  1. I do collect books too, but I do collect clutter as well. xD I have a box full of old movie tickets, different currencies, notes my friends used to pass between us during class, boarding passes… I know they don’t serve a purpose, but they’re nice to look at. =]

    • Books are wonderful!
I just realized about an hour ago, literally, everything that I “collect” has more than one purpose. I never collect things for the sole purpose of just collecting them.
Keeping old movie tickets is really cool!
I think I kept my boarding pass for the first flight I ever took, but I am not entirely sure where it is. Haha.
Thank you for reading my post and sharing with me the things you collect! :)
